Creel to play Jesus in 'Godspell'

Adam Epstein to produce Broadway revival

Gavin Creel (“Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “La Cage aux Folles”) has landed the role of Jesus in the upcoming Broadway revival of “Godspell.”

Production is an enhanced version of helmer Daniel Goldstein’s 2006 staging of the 1971 tuner at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey. Adam Epstein (“Cry-Baby”) produces.

No other casting has been set. “Godspell” is poised to begin perfs this summer at a theater TBD.
