The Motion Picture Assn. has upped Christopher Marcich to president and managing director of its operations in Europe, the Mideast and Africa and promoted Asian regional executive Mike Ellis to president and managing director of Asia Pacific.

Marcich, who has worked at the MPA for 13 years, was previously senior VP and managing director for the region.

Ellis has been with the MPA since 1999. He manages operations in 14 countries and is the key political representative for the MPA in the Asia Pacific area, where intellectual property theft is rampant.
