Hong Kong Forum nods to 5 projects

'The Bus,' '7 Dreams' both honored

HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) awarded prizes Wednesday to five of the 25 projects that were presented at the three-day script market.

Nod for top Hong Kong project went to "The Bus," to be directed and produced by Pang Ho Cheung. Kudos for overseas project went to "7 Dreams," by mainland Chinese multihyphenate Ning Hao ("Crazy Stone").

The Rome Film Festival prize was presented by Teresa Cavina to "Fugitive Club," a drama about a kidnapping game that goes wrong, to be helmed by Tang Xiru.

Technicolor Thailand Awards were shared between "Shuffle," by Hong Kong's Carol Lai Mui-suet, and Thai director-producer Nonzee Nimibutr's "Secret of the Butterfly."

With cash and in-kind prizes worth $75,000 on offer, HAF is among the most generous project marts in the region.
