School opens at Babelsberg Studio

Program will offer practical industry experience

BERLIN -- A private film school in Babelsberg specializing in digital production, animation and visual effects is opening its doors in April.

A joint initiative between Studio Babelsberg, regional subsidy org Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the Brandenburg Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Konrad Wolf Film & Television Academy, the school will offer an educational program including practical experience in the industry.

A new Studio Babelsberg subsidiary will oversee the Babelsberg Film School, which will be headed by Marius Schwarz, Studio Babelsberg's chief financial officer.
