ZURICH — Docu-focused Swiss fest Visions du Reel will open with “Durakovo: Village of Fools,” Nino Kirtadze’s pic about right-wing youth in Russia.

The Nyon-based fest, which runs April 17-23, shows more Russian fare with “Between the Bear and the Wolf,” Denis Sneguirev’s docu about the threats to press freedom in Russia.

The international competish also includes immigrant testimonial “Wall to Wall — Berlin Ceuta,” a Belgian-French pic helmed by Patric Jean, and a Canadian docu on torture, “Sous la cagoule,” by Patricio Henriquez.

Also in competition is Steven Sebring’s rock singer portrait, “Patti Smith: Dream of Life,” and Susan Mogul’s “Driving Men,” a roadtrip with the men in her life.

Sidebar Regards Neufs showcases new talent, such as Germany’s Sebastian Hediger, who profiles young prostitutes in Berlin in “Drifter.”

Established names feature in the Tendences strand, including Jonathan Demme, who profiles 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter in “Man from Plains.”
