Williams served as production designer for features including "Tribute," "The Changeling," the "Police Academy" films and two "Dark Shadows" features.
On television, he was nominated for two Emmys, for "The Hunchback" and "The Eccentricities of a Nightingale." He worked as a set designer on classic goth series "Dark Shadows," and went on to work as art director on shows such as "Little House on the Prairie" and "The Night Stalker."
Born in Harrow, England, he designed shows for the CBC in Toronto, before settling in Hollywood in 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons Ben, an editor and Rhiley; daughter Rebekah; a brother and four grandchildren.
