'Amal' to open Indian Film Festival

Fest runs in LA from April 22-27

Richie Mehta's "Amal" will help open the sixth annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles on April 22.

The festival will run from April 22 till April 27 and will be held at ArcLight Hollywood Cinemas with almost 40 films being showcased and more than 50 Q&As with filmmakers attending the event.

"Amal" is adapted from a short story from Shaun Mehta and chronicles the results of a meeting between an auto rickshaw driver and an eccentric tycoon.

The festival will also have the world premiere of the documentary, "Mumbai Cutting...A City Unfolds" and also will be honoring Indian personality Madhuri Dixit.
