Universal ups Andrew Fenady

Exec named president of physical production

Universal has elevated Andrew Fenady to prexy of physical production.

Fenady, who was named co-prexy in October, replaces James Brubaker, the longtime head of the division, who chose not to renew his contract and will move into a senior advisory role. Fenady will report to Jimmy Horowitz, co-prexy of production and exec VP for the studio.

Fenady will oversee all aspects of physical production in his expanded role. Among his duties: formulation of production plans, scheduling, hiring crews and managing day-to-day operations.

Studio is in various stages of production on "State of Play," "Land of the Lost," "Public Enemies" and "Frost/Nixon," among other pics.

Exec joined U in June 2000 as director of physical production, advancing to VP in 2002 and to senior VP of physical production in 2004 before he was named co-prexy.
