Stage duo honored with insignia

LeCompte, Zambello given Chevalier

Legiters Elizabeth LeCompte and Francesca Zambello have received France’s insignia of the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters.

LeCompte, the founder of downtown fixture the Wooster Group, and Zambello, helmer of “The Little Mermaid,” receive the honor with poet John Yau and Ron Simon, curator of TV and radio at the Paley Center for Media.

Insignia is given out twice a year to a few hundred artists from around the world.
