Story centers on 12-year old Randy, whose only friend is the imaginary 30-year-old Larry. When Randy kisses a girl for the first time, that action permanently banishes Larry to Imaginary World. Larry vows to make himself real and exact revenge on the girl who stole his best friend.
David R. Goodman ("South Park," "Father of the Pride") penned the screenplay.
Odd Lot's Deborah Del Prete and Gigi Pritzker will produce.
Pritzker said the screenplay offers a "fresh comedic tone." The project, she added, "goes a long way toward augmenting the diversity of our slate of films at Odd Lot."
Odd Lot's upcoming projects include Frank Miller's solo directorial outing, "The Spirit," which stars Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Sarah Paulson, Dan Lauria and Samuel L. Jackson.
Guterman's credits include "Cats & Dogs" and "Son of the Mask."
