'Momma' goes to MOMA

Film premiered at Sundance

ThinkFilm has acquired North American rights to "Momma's Man," which preemed at Sundance. Film will have its Gotham preem on March 28 at the Museum of Modern Art as part of the New Directors/New Films series.

Pic from writer-director Azazel Jacobs ("The GoodTimesKid") follows a young man who visits his parents and discovers that staying in his childhood bedroom is much simpler than returning to his wife and newborn. Jacob's real-life parents, Flo and Ken Jacobs, also star.

"Momma's" producers Alex Orlovsky, Hunter Gray and exec producer Paul Mezey are rematched with ThinkFilm, with whom they partnered on 2006 critical fave "Half Nelson." Deal was negotiated by ThinkFilm's Mark Urman, Randy Manis and Ben Stambler, with Cinetic Media representing the filmmakers. Urman intends to release the film in exclusive engagements later this year.
