South African org mulls film school

NFVF launches survey to assess feasibility

JOHANNESBERG -- The National Film and Video Foundation has launched an industry survey to investigate the feasibility of setting up a government-supported film school.

The NFVF, a statutory body that promotes the growth and development of South Africa's film and TV industry, has asked all industryites active between April 2006 and March 2007 to fill in a questionnaire on www.nfvf.co.za.

The survey will help the NFVF identify the demand for skills and any gaps in the skills base and training initiatives. It will also assess the film and TV industry's contribution to the South African economy, the NFVF said.

The results will be published later this year.
