MySpace founder nabs Revver

Greenspan acquires video sharing site

MySpace founder Brad Greenspan has acquired online video sharing site Revver.com in a stock deal, making it part of LiveUniverse.

As part of the purchase, Revver, whose videos were ad-supported and paid content creators depending on how many times they were viewed, will now be merged with LiveVideo.com's social network, video and interactive offerings.

Both LiveVideo.com and Revver.com will continue to operate as separate branded properties and Revver will continue to operate out of its existing Hollywood location.

The two websites plan to immediately combine ad sales and customer service personnel.

Revver receives millions of visitors per month and hosts over 40 million monthly video streams, while LiveVideo attracts over 200,000 users per day.

The LiveUniverse network reaches over 40 million unique visitors per month.
