The month's tally of awards ceremonies more than made up for January's decline, amassing 51 events (same as February 2007) and a whopping 875 awards (compared with last year's 689 for the month).
While the kudofests themselves numbered the same as last year, the ones that took place upped the ante on honors.
The Grammys were handing out 112 nods vs. last year's 109, and the NAACP Image Awards saw a big bump in volume, doling out 53 kudos compared with 41 last year.
Even the foreign kudofests upped the volume: There were 22 Cesars this year vs. 20 in 2007.
And no one seemed to be left wanting.
Steven Spielberg's honorary Golden Globe was postponed to 2009, but the Visual Effects Society handily filled the breach, giving the director its honorary nod.
