Apatow sets 'Five-Year Engagement'
Segel to star in Stoller-directed couple's comedy

Project, which Apatow will produce with Shauna Robertson, reteams the studio with the duo behind the upcoming laffer "Forgetting Sarah Marshall": writer-director Nick Stoller and writer-star Jason Segel.
Story, described as a bawdy, couples comedy, charts the five-year engagement of a man (Segel) and his fiancee, following the ups and downs of their relationship.
"It's definitely an extension of our desire to explore the depth of human misery," Stoller said. "If Sarah Marshall (played by Kristen Bell) and Jason's character had stayed together, this might be the sequel."
Stoller and Segel, who met while working on Apatow's TV series "Undeclared," will pen "Five-Year Engagement" together. Stoller, who made his feature helming debut with "Sarah Marshall," is attached to direct, and Segel is set to star. Apatow and Stoller also worked together writing the screenplay for the Jim Carrey starrer "Fun With Dick and Jane."
Stoller has several writing projects in development at various studios, including "Step Dude" at Paramount and "Opposite Day" at DreamWorks.
Segel, whose credits include "Knocked Up" and the CBS series "How I Met Your Mother," recently signed on to star opposite Paul Rudd in DreamWorks' comedy "I Love You, Man."
