The title comes from Keith's hit single, also features Rodney Carrington (also co-writer), Ted Nugent, Willie Nelson, Claire Forlani, Barry Corbin and Tom Skerritt.
Keith and Carrington play small-town deputies who embark on a wacky road trip to rescue their girlfriends from comically evil drug lords.
No distributor is on board yet.
The executive producers of "Beer for My Horses" are TK Kimbrell, Jeff Yapp and Leslie Belzberg. Keith's co-producer is Donald Zuckerman.
Keith's first movie, the 2006 drama "Broken Bridges," produced by CMT's sister company MTV Films, got only limited release through Paramount Vantage on 84 screens in the U.S., grossing $251,000 in its four weeks. The movie then went to CMT as a world TV premiere.
