Kutcher, Banks producing ABC series

Network orders eight episodes of reality show

It's beginning to feel like business as usual for the TV biz again.

ABC on Tuesday gave an eight-episode order to an unscripted series to be produced by Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher for Warner Horizon. CBS handed out a pilot pickup to Warner Bros. TV for a drama from scribe Bruno Heller, "The Mentalist."

Kutcher's Katalyst production banner got more good news as ABC confirmed a premiere date for the company's Judy Greer comedy "Miss/Guided," co-produced by 20th Century Fox TV and ABC Studios.

Comedy starring Judy Greer as a high school guidance counselor bows March 18 at 10:30 p.m. before moving to its regular home the following Thursday, with back-to-back segs airing from 8-9 p.m.

Details of Katalyst's reality skein are being kept under wraps, but it's understood to revolve around beautiful people living in a house together. Project will be produced by Warner Horizon, Banks' Bankable Prods. and Katalyst, headed by Kutcher, Jason Goldberg and Karey Burke.

Kutcher and Banks know a thing or two about televised competitions: Banks just launched the 10th cycle of CW's "America's Next Top Model," while Kutcher's "Beauty and the Geek" bows its fifth season next month.

CBS' drama pilot revolves around a mentalist who uses his heightened sense of observation to solve crimes. Scribe Heller is known for creating/exec producing the HBO drama "Rome."
