Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Tribute to IFC Films will feature the U.S. preem of Ken Loach’s “It’s a Free World,” the helmer’s follow-up to 2006 Palme d’Or winner “The Wind That Shakes the Barley.”

Series, which runs Friday through March 6, will include one sneak preview of Gus Van Sant’s “Paranoid Park.” Other films to unspool include Hou Hsiao-hsien’s “Three Times,” from 2005, and 2007’s “Flight of the Red Balloon” with Juliette Binoche.

Claude Chabrol’s 2007 comedy “A Girl Cut in Two” will screen along with Christophe Honore’s “Dans Paris” (2006) and “Love Songs” (2007); a Q&A with Honore follows the latter’s showing.

Also beginning Friday for a limited time, IFC introduces Festival Direct, video-on-demand access to indie films from fests worldwide. Auds can tune into their local cabler’s On Demand platform and purchase VOD selections for $5.99.

Festival Direct will showcase five films that preemed at Cannes, Toronto, Tribeca, Venice and Telluride.
