'Pigs' reels in a box office trophy

'3 Little Pigs' wins Golden Reel

"The 3 Little Pigs," a French-language comedy about infidelity, has won the Golden Reel award as Canada's top-grossing homegrown film of 2007, with a cume of C$4.6 million ($4.7 million).

Nod will be presented during the Genie Awards ceremony on Monday in Toronto.

Pic is the feature directorial debut of Quebec standup comic and actor Patrick Huard. It is about three brothers -- played by Claude Legault, Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge and Paul Doucet -- who discuss the pros and cons of fidelity while at the hospital where their mother lies in a coma.

Pic was produced by Pierre Gendron and Christian Larouche and distributed by Montreal-based Christal Films. It is nominated for four other Genies.
