Viewers sweet on 'Raisin in the Sun'
Movie gives ABC a Monday night victory

The Sony Pictures Television pic, which in January became the first broadcast network film to be screened at the Sundance Film Festival, won the night for ABC and gave the net its best Monday numbers since November.
According to national estimates from Nielsen that include same-night DVR playback, "Raisin" averaged a 3.6 rating/9 share in adults 18-49 and 12.69 million viewers overall from 8 to 11 o'clock. It placed second in its opening hour and then led from 9 to 11 in 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers.
In women 18-49, the pic's 5.3 rating/13 share repped the best for an original movie on television in about two years (since ABC's preem of a new take on "The Ten Commandments" in April 2006).
ABC won the night in 18-49, ending NBC's six-week winning streak in 18-49 and logging the net's best Monday scores since "Dancing With the Stars" ended its fall season.
"Raisin" stars Sean Combs, Phylicia Rashad and Audra McDonald -- in roles they originated during the play's hugely successful Broadway revival. It was executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron's Storyline Entertainment, Combs' Bad Boy World Wide Entertainment Group and Sony Pictures Television.
Elsewhere Monday, NBC's "Deal or No Deal" was again the night's top show and won easily at 8 o'clock (4.3/11 in 18-49, 15.43m), although Fox held tough in the hour with a special episode of lie-detector gameshow "Moment of Truth" (3.6/10, 8.51m).
Both nets fell off an hour later, though, with the Peacock's "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" (2.8/7, 7.80m) dropping 20% from its preem (when it had a stronger "Deal" lead-in). And Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (2.7/7, 7.12m) didn't mesh well with its lead-in, hitting a low and ranking third in most categories.
New shows continuing to struggle on the night are CBS comedy "Welcome to the Captain" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.30m) and CW reality show "Girlicious" (0.8/2, 1.73m).
Combs' big night extended to MTV, where "Making the Band 4" (which he exec produces) was cable's top show in the 10 o'clock hour among adults 18-34 (2.1/6).
