Warner boosts Bruijnen in Benelux

Executive to head home video

By
LONDON — Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has tapped Jaap Bruijnen as managing director of Warner Home Video in Benelux, replacing Ruud Lamers, who is ankling the post after 25 years with WB.

Bruijnen, who was previously deputy m.d. of Warner Home Video Benelux, will take over the reins on May 1.

Bruijnen joined Warner Home Video Benelux in 2000 as director of finance and operations, becoming deputy m.d. in 2002. He is credited with leading the integration of Warner Home Video’s finance and corporate groups in the Benelux.

Prior to joining WB, Bruijnen worked in a finance capacity for the likes of Conoco and PepsiCo.

Lamers has led WB’s Benelux home entertainment operations through the advent of VHS, DVD and digital distribution.

In 2006, under Lamers’ stewardship, Warner Home Video became the first studio to deliver day-and-date electronic sell-through of one of its titles to coincide with the DVD release of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in the Netherlands and Dutch-speaking parts of Belgium.
