'Sunday in the Park' extended

Transfer tuner will play Studio 54 through June 1

The Roundabout Theater Company's Broadway revival of tuner "Sunday in the Park with George" has skedded a two-week extension just before the reviews of its Feb. 21 opening hit newsstands.

Rialto transfer of the hit London production, which originated at the Menier Chocolate Factory before it moved to the West End, will now play Studio 54 in Gotham through June 1. Show's Brit stars, Daniel Evans and Jenna Russell, are joined by an American ensemble that includes Michael Cumpsty, Alexander Gemignani and Mary Beth Peil. Sam Buntrock directs.

Meanwhile, the Roundabout's Off Broadway staging of "Crimes of the Heart," which earned favorable press after its Feb. 14 opening, will extend by a week through April 20. Helmed by Kathleen Turner, the play stars Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Jennifer Dundas.
