Ratings more than 'Fair' for Nick

Kid network scores with 'OddBaby' special

Nickelodeon has come up with the biggest audience of the year for a kid show, the "Fairly OddBaby" one-hour primetime special Monday at 8, which averaged 8.8 million total viewers.

Among the key Nick demos (K2-11, K6-11 and Tweens 9-14), "OddBaby" reigned as the highest-rated entertainment show year to date on either broadcast or cable TV. A total of 5.3 million K2-11 watched the special, as well as 4.2 million K6-11 and 3.2 million tweens 9-14. The percentage increases from year-ago time periods were in the triple digits.

Because "OddBaby" is an extension of Nick's bellwether hit series "The Fairly OddParents," it was able to get a 1 million-hit boost from the "OddParents" website, which began the promotion on Feb. 7. Other online promotions, including a videogame, a streaming video and various message boards, also scored hundreds of thousands of hits.
