Willoughby Pictures has joined with Savandra Pictures and Mission Launch to produce the feature "Tar Beach." Filming is scheduled to begin this fall in Gotham. Production team is in talks with thesp John Leguizamo to helm.

"Tar" is based on real-life tale of Carol Boyd, a young woman saddled with caring for her alcoholic stepfather and paroled stepsister. Thesp Joe Anderson ("Across the Universe," "Control") is said to be attached.
