The Art Directors Guild and the University Art Museum of Cal State Long Beach have announced plans for an international conference on visual storytelling and design across all media.

"5D: The Future of Immersive Design" will be held Oct. 4-5 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center at CSU Long Beach.

Two-day confab will gather thinkers and showbiz pros. Keynoter will be MIT media analyst Henry Jenkins. Those skedded to participate include "War of the Worlds" production designer Rick Carter; John Tarnoff, head of show development at DreamWorks Animation; and Habib Zargarpour, senior art director, Electronic Arts.
