Revolver shoots pact with Macmillan

Duo team on marketing campaigns

LONDON -- Brit indie distrib Revolver Entertainment has inked a pact with publishing powerhouse Pan Macmillan to bolt together the marketing campaigns for film releases and their book tie-ins.

Revolver's "My Brother Is an Only Child," an Italian coming-of-ager helmed by Daniele Luchetti, will be released simultaneously April 4 with the book it is based on -- "Il fasciocomunista" by Antonio Pennacchi.

Revolver has taken U.K./Ireland rights for the book and will use its in-house marketing team to promote the release.

Macmillan has longstanding distribution relationships with the U.K.'s biggest booksellers and supermarkets.

Future film/book launches include Jean Paul Salome's "Female Agents," which Revolver releases in June.

"This new partnership will allow us to call on Pan Macmillan's extensive knowledge and contacts with booksellers," said Justin Marciano, Revolver managing director. "The payoff for them is having the book marketed at the same time through theatrical and DVD release of the film."
