Peterson stars in the hit CTV sitcom "Corner Gas," and his previous credits include appearances in many of Canada's best-known TV series, including "Street Legal" and "This Is Wonderland."
The nominees for the ACTRA Award for female performance include Kristin Booth for the pic "Young People Fucking," Caroline Cave from the pic "This Beautiful City," Allegra Fulton for the short "Loonie," Mayko Nguyen from the series "ReGenesis" and Kate Trotter from TV series "The Jane Show."
Contenders for the male performance nod are David Fox from the TV series "Across the River to Motor City," Jack Knight from the short "Loonie," Joe Pingue from short "The Answer Key," Aaron Poole from the pic "This Beautiful City" and Michael Riley from CBC miniseries "St. Urbain's Horseman."
The voice performance finalists are three from toon "Ruby Gloom" -- Stacey Depass, Peter Keleghan and Adrian Truss -- plus Julie Lemieux from the animated series "Magi-Nation" and Matt Watts from radio series "Canadia 2056."
The awards gala will be hosted by Colin Mochrie from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
ACTRA Toronto is the largest org within the union, representing more than 11,000 of ACTRA's 21,000 performers.
