Royo ascends to CEO post

Exec promoted at Ascent Media Group

Post conglom Ascent Media Group has upped Jose Royo to CEO.

Royo had been AMG's chief technology and strategy officer since January 2007.

He joined AMG in 2001 as veep of the Digital Media Center and was promoted to senior VP, digital services. AMG credits Royo with guiding its shift to digital services and with forging key alliances with technology partners and clients, including HP, Microsoft and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Prior to joining AMG, Royo was chief technology officer at Broadband Sports and lead software architect at Trilogy Software.

AMG has been without a CEO since Kenneth S. Williams ankled in August 2006.

Santa Monica-based AMG has more than 75 facilities around the world, including California, New York, London and Singapore. Its subsidiaries include Company3, Ascent Media Network Services and Todd-AO, Blink Digital and Riot.
