The Henry VIII drama won the drama series/soap award, while actors Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Maria Doyle Kennedy and Nick Dunning were honored for their performances.
The skein’s costume designer Joan Bergin, production designer Tom Conroy, and hair and makeup duo Jennifer Hegarty and Dee Corcoran were also winners on the night.
Feature pics “Garage” and “Kings” each received four awards.
“Garage” bossed the main film categories, taking the Irish film prize and netting wins for helmer Lenny Abrahamson, lead thesp Pat Shortt and scribe Mark O’Halloran.
Abrahamson and O’Halloran had more reason to celebrate on the night as they also scooped TV director and script prizes for “Prosperity.”
Gaelic-language pic “Kings” won prizes for supporting actor (Brendan Conroy), editing, sound and original score. The Tom Collins helmed pic also received a special award for a film or TV show in Gaelic.
Another big winner was breakout thesp Saoirse Ronan, who collected the supporting actress prize and the Irish Film Board’s rising star award for her turn in “Atonement.” Ronan, who is nommed for a supporting actress Oscar, missed out on a BAFTA earlier this month to Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton”).
Seamus McGarvey made it two prizes for “Atonement” when he bagged the d.p. kudo.
In other film prizes, Daniel Day-Lewis (“There Will Be Blood”) nabbed the international actor award, “The Lives of Others” took home the international film award and Mel Gibson was presented with an IFTA honor for outstanding contribution to world cinema.
