“La senal” (The Sign), the directorial debut of “Nine Queens” thesp Ricardo Darin, has sold to SBS Australia, Hungary’s Cinetel for Eastern Europe, and China’s HGC Ent., which has also taken Chilean toonpic “Papelucho.”

All sales were concluded at Berlin by the Buenos Aires-based FilmSharks Intl.

The tale, which co-stars Darin, pulled in nearly 500,000 admissions during its September-October run this year, making it one of the most-seen local pics in Argentina.

“Sign,” which screens at the European Film Market, is the first production from new shingle Pampa Films, a Buenos Aires production outfit owned by Pablo Bossi, Spain’s Filmax Entertainment and Argentine helmer-producer Juan Pablo Buscarini.

The deals come as another FilmSharks’ pickup, “Llamando a un angel,” is being released in Mexico by BVI/Disney Thursday on 150 prints, said FilmSharks prexy Guido Rud.
