Disney signs European digital deal

Studio to supply films to AAM

By
Walt Disney Studios Intl. has pacted with digital distribution outfit Arts Alliance Media to supply pics in the digital format to cinemas across Europe.

Under the terms of the long-term, non-exclusive agreement, Disney also will make provisional contributions toward the digital cinema hardware costs of AAM-deployed DCI-compliant screens.

AAM already has similar deals in place with 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures Intl., Paramount Pictures Intl. and Sony Pictures Releasing Intl.

This latest deal leaves Warner Bros. as the only major studio not yet to have inked a deal with AAM.
