LightTower partners up with Twisted

Entertainment outfits team for two films

LightTower Entertainment has partnered with Twisted Pictures, the horror shingle behind the "Saw" franchise, to finance two $5 million films.

The first is the "Fatal Attraction"-esque drama "Kept," written by Jason Rothwell, with Bill Eagles ("Beautiful Creatures") attached to direct. The second is an untitled vigilante project written by Marek Posival, with Rob Lieberman ("Fire in the Sky") set to helm.

Twisted Pictures, the genre division of Mark Burg and Oren Koules' Evolution Entertainment, developed and packaged both projects.

Burg, Koules and Carl Mazzocone will produce the two films, while LightTower's Curtis Leopardo and Jonathan Zucker will exec produce.

Chicago-based LightTower will finance the projects from a multimillion-dollar private equity pool.

In addition to the four "Saw" films, Twisted Pictures' credits include the upcoming "Repo! The Genetic Opera."
