Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Anthony Mackie and Tamara Tunie are among the thesps lined up to appear in the Kennedy Center's August Wilson fest, "August Wilson's 20th Century."
Monthlong event presents semi-staged readings of all ten of Wilson's Pittsburgh cycle plays. Harry Lennix, John Earl Jelks, Anthony Chisholm and James A. Williams with reprise the roles they played in "Radio Golf" on Broadway last spring, while Jelks, Chisholm, Santiago-Hudson and Raynor Scheine will return to the parts they portrayed in "Gem of the Ocean" in 2004.
Other thesps playing roles they've played before include Keith David in "Seven Guitars" and Lynda Gravatt in "King Hedley II."
Kenny Leon, a.d. of the event, will helm "Gem" (which he directed on Broadway), "The Piano Lesson" and "Fences." Other directors involved include Santiago-Hudson, Gordon Davidson, Derrick Sanders and Wilson's former dramaturg, Todd Kreidler.
Series runs March 4-April 6 at the Washington, D.C. venue.
