Paramount promotes VFX exec

LoCascio moves up from VP to senior VP

Paramount Pictures has upped Kimberly LoCascio to senior veep of visual effects.

She had served as veep of visual effects since 2004.

LoCascio will continue to oversee all aspects of visual effects development and production for films released by Paramount, MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies. In addition, she will serve as a liaison with feature animation and specialty projects, including 3-D pics.

Mark Bakshi, president of feature production management, praised LoCascio for knowing how "to effectively utilize technology to engage audiences." At Par LoCascio has supervised visual effects for films including "Charlotte's Web," "Mission: Impossible III," "World Trade Center," "Cloverfield" and "The Spiderwick Chronicles."

Before Paramount, LoCascio was a freelance visual effects producer.She began her film career at George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic.
