Lifetime Movie's Bryson to retire

Network topper saw viewership rise 40%

Lifetime Movie Network topper Loiuse Henry Bryson, who also heads up distribution for all of Lifetime Networks, has announced plans to retire at the end of May.

Bryson has spent nine years at Lifetime, serving as president of distribution and affiliate business development as well as exec VP/GM of Lifetime Movie Network.

Under Bryson's watch, LMN saw its total viewership grow by 40% over the past three years (as well as 18% with women 18-49), making it the No. 2 women's network. Channel is now seen in 59 million homes.

"Her leadership has been critical to the great financial success we enjoy today," said Lifetime Networks CEO Andrea Wong. "She has been a champion not only of her own team, but for all our assets and projects."

Bryson's credits include stints at FX and NBC. She began her career as a documentary producer.

"What has been particularly gratifying have been the ever-increasing opportunities our business has offered women, with so many now holding influential and powerful positions," Bryson said of her 25-year stint in the cable business. "I feel deeply fortunate to have worked at Lifetime ... it's a very special place where entertaining women and advocating on their behalf is considered both a privilege and a joy."

Bryson plans to travel the world with her husband, who is also retiring this summer.
