Burbank-based Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging and leading Indian digital post and visual effects company Prime Focus have forged an alliance that makes the services of both companies available around the globe.
The accord aims to allow the two companies to move content easily between them so that work can be done in a time zone that meets each client's needs.
Prime Focus hopes to get post-production business from Warner Pictures, which is known to prefer a wide global pipeline for its post services.
Prime Focus, founded in 1997, has multiple locations in India and a facility London, and it added facilities in Winnipeg, New York and Los Angeles with its acquisition of Post Logic Studios and Frantic Films in December.
Warner MPI is a high-end facility on the Warner lot. It is one of a small number of facilities that can do post and restoration work at 4K, twice the resolution of today's 2K digital cinema standard. It works for Warner and other studios.
