David Bowie is in talks to join the cast, which includes Lisa Kudrow, Vanessa Hudgens ("High School Musical") and "Friday Night Light's" Scott Porter.
Music-filled story, co-scripted by Josh Cagan, revolves around a misfit (Liam Aiken) who strikes up a friendship with a like-minded outsider girl at his new school.
Summit will distribute and co-produce with Walden. Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas is producing through her Goldsmith-Thomas Prods. Lensing is about to commence.
