Nick strips its first Latino novela

'Karku' acquired from Chile's TVN

HOLLYWOOD -- Nickelodeon Latin America has jumped on the telenovela bandwagon with its first Latino sudser, "Karku," aimed at teens.

Acquired from Chile's TVN, the novela follows a group of teens through the trials and tribulations of friendship, romance and growing up.

"Karku" kicks off March 3 on Nickelodeon Latin America, where it will be stripped Monday through Friday. Jose Francisco Garcia and Onell Lopez Campos created and produced the telenovela, helmed by Juan Pablo Tapia.
