Backstage at Sunday's SAG Awards, the cast of "The Sopranos" was in fine fettle, as Uncle Junior would have put it.
"We're wearing our hearts on our sleeves," said
Dominic Chianese (who played Uncle Junior). When asked why the show's such a hit overseas,
Steven Schirripa pointed to
Tony Sirico's trademark white wings on his hair and noted, "No one has hair like this" as Sirico pivoted back and forth. "We have not seen each other for awhile," Schirripa added. "It is bittersweet because the show is over, but we are happy that we won."
At the Shrine auditorium ceremony, winners often marveled at how heavy the SAG Actor award -- a greenish statue -- is at 12 pounds.
"I remember from last year that when I went back to work I couldn't extend my biceps," said
Jenna Fischer, part of the ensemble that won for comedy series for "The Office."
Tina Fey, who won for "30 Rock," promised that her infant daughter won't be handling the statue -- "This is a baby crusher."
