“Jersey Boys” will go far from the Garden State in spring 2009, when the Rialto hit opens in Melbourne, Australia.
Production, which bows in March 2009 at the Princess Theater, will follow in the wake of productions soon to open on the West End (in March), Vegas (in May) and Toronto (in August).
“Jersey,” the bio-tuner of the Four Seasons, has been one of Broadway’s most robust hits since it opened in fall 2005, consistently logging the highest average paid ticket price of any show (a good indicator of the strength of ticket demand). The Aussie incarnation will be produced by Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, Newtheatricals and Dodger Theatricals, among others.
