The Manhattan Film Academy -- a U.S.-based group comprised of American and European filmmakers, will be offering intensive hands-on production workshops.
"Studio City's affiliation with the Manhattan Film Academy is an important step to harness local and regional film talent for the creation of a local film industry," said Studio City director Jamal al-Sharif.
A number of luminaries from the film world will be lending their expertise to the five-month long workshops, including Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn and Oscar-nominated helmer Agnieszka Holland.
