CBS revives primetime 'Price is Right'

Hourlong episodes will air Fridays at 8 p.m.

In a bid to cut down on strike repeats, CBS is bringing back the primetime edition of "The Price is Right."

Net has greenlit six hourlong episodes of "Price" that will air Fridays at 8 p.m., starting Feb. 22. Eye has used "Price" in primetime a few times over the past few years, but this will be the first time the show has aired at night since Drew Carey replaced Bob Barker as host of the FremantleMedia North America-produced skein.

With "Price" at 8, CBS is shifting "Ghost Whisperer" to 9 p.m. That means frosh vampire show "Moonlight," which now airs Fridays at 9, will go on hiatus. "Ghost" and "Moonlight" are both in repeats because of the strike.

Elsewhere on the scheduling front, CBS has decided to yank another Carey-hosted quizzer from its primetime lineup.

"Power of 10," which has been airing Wednesdays at 8, has been pulled from the net's lineup, effective immediately.

In its place, CBS will try out a mix of comedy repeats. First up: A double shot of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" on Jan. 30.

CBS isn't abandoning "Power of 10," however. Eye execs still like the show, and it's believed new episodes will air in the summer.

Quizzer has had a tough time finding an aud opposite intense competition from established hits "American Idol," "Deal or No Deal" and "Wife Swap."
