Steve Solot will step down as the Motion Picture Assn.’s top exec in Latin America on Jan. 31 after 10 years in the post and 25 years with the org.
Chief operating officer Bob Pisano will temporarily fulfill Solot’s senior VP duties until a replacement is found.
Solot is opening a consulting company in Rio de Janeiro to assist Latin American producers of content for film, TV and other media. The company has agreements with universities in Latin America and Stateside, including Miami U. and UCLA.
The MPA issued a note expressing its support for Solot’s new venture.
