Vertigo is hot on Wyatt's 'Trail'

Feature set to shoot this spring in New Mexico

LONDON -- Producer-distrib Vertigo Films has boarded writer-director Rupert Wyatt's soph feature "The Trail," which is skedded to shoot this spring in New Mexico.

Vertigo founders Allan Niblo and James Richardson will produce the $10 million-budgeted "Trail" alongside Picture Farm's Ben Freedman. Script is written by Wyatt and Daniel Hardy, who also co-scripted Wyatt's directorial debut, "The Escapist."

Vertigo has snapped up U.K. rights to Wyatt's directorial debut "The Escapist," starring Brian Cox and Joseph Fiennes, which world premieres today at Sundance.

Newly formed international sales company Protagonist Pictures -- a joint venture between Vertigo, Film4 and Ingenious Media -- will handle international rights to "Trail."
