Skein revolves around a female FBI agent who ends up paired with a troubled scientist and his estranged son in a hunt for paranormal phenomena. Lensing on the pilot, which was written before the WGA strike, is set to begin next month in Toronto.

Abrams is exec producing with frequent Bad Robot collaborators Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Burk and Alex Graves. Graves is directing.

Acevedo's other credits include "The Black Donnellys," "Law & Order: Trial By Jury" and "Oz." Arana most recently had a part in "The Bourne Supremacy." Both thesps have also guest starred on Fox's "24."
