Terra links to Disney

Company offers content to website

Disney has entered the Web-content arena in Latin America.

It will supply "High School Musical," "Lost" and other material to Argentina's Terra TV website, which draws 10 million visitors a month.

Terra, a unit of Spanish telco giant Telefonica, this month started making Disney content on Terramundo.terra.com.ar. Telefonica is a large player in the Latin American telco market.

The content, available free on demand, expands on Terra's offerings of entertainment, news, music and sports programming from other providers.

Terra TV has more than 90,000 hours of VOD plus and generates 70 hours of original content a month, largely financed by advertising on the site.

Ezequiel Abramzon, director of digital media for Disney Latin America, said at a press conference in Buenos Aires that the deal will expand the reach of its content.
