Disney's Gilbey takes on Asia-Pacific

Company relocates exec from European post

HONG KONG -- Disney has relocated Rob Gilbey from Europe to Hong Kong to take up the new position of senior VP and managing director, Disney-ABC Intl. Television, Asia-Pacific.

Gilbey was previously managing director, Disney Channel U.K., Scandinavia & Emerging Markets. Before that he was based in Hong Kong with Turner Entertainment.

He will be involved throughout the entire Asia Pacific region in distribution and revenue of all TV and film content developed by Disney (including Walt Disney Studios, ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, Disney Channel and Disney-ABC Cable Networks).

He reports to Ben Pyne, prexy of global distribution, Disney-ABC Worldwide Television & Disney Media Networks.
