Gothenburg debuts producer prize

Jury to pick best Swedish producer

STOCKHOLM — A new prize for the best Swedish producer of the past year is to be handed out at the Gothenburg film festival, which kicks off Jan. 25.

The aim of the award is to emphasize the importance of good producers for the success of a film.

The jury, which will make its pick from all Swedish films made in 2007, consists of cinematographer Tony Forsberg, editor Petra Ahlin, helmer Reza Parsa, producer Jesper Bergom-Larsson and Ali Boriri from film lab Stopp, which will develop the winner’s next pic for free.
