MTV nabs social media network

Viacom buys stake in GoFish

Continuing its strategy of distributing ad-supported videos broadly on the Web, MTV Networks has added social media network imeem, video sites Daily Motion, GoFish, and Veoh, and entertainment guide MeeVee.

MTV parent company Viacom has also bought an equity stake in GoFish, which has struggled to find a working strategy as it agreed to buy and then terminated plans to acquire video site Bolt.com last year. Viacom has agreed to hold its GoFish stock for at least two years.
