Most of the jurors are Sundance alums. Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs" and Harron's "I Shot Andy Warhol" both premiered at the fest; Harden appeared in Sundance Institute Directors Lab project "Crush" and 1996 audience award winner "The Spitfire Grill"; and Luna's credits include fest titles "Y tu mama tambien" and "The Night Buffalo."

The documentary competition jury boasts director Eugene Jarecki, who won the Sundance grand jury prize for his 2005 documentary "Why We Fight"; fellow documakers Heidi Ewing ("The Boys of Baraka"), Steven Okazaki ("White Light/Black Rain") and Annie Sundberg ("The Devil Came on Horseback"); and IFP exec director Michelle Byrd.

Helmers Shunji Iwai ("All About Lily Chou-Chou"), Lucrecia Martel ("The Holy Girl") and Jan Schuette (whose "Love Comes Lately" will screen in the noncompetitive Spectrum sidebar) will head up the world dramatic competition jury.

World docu competition jury consists of helmer Amir Bar-Lev (whose "My Kid Could Paint That" bowed at Sundance last year); Leena Pasanen, director of the European Documentary Network; and Ilda Santiago, exec director and head of programming for the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival.

Jon Bloom, Melonie Diaz and Jason Reitman will sit on the short-film jury, while the Alfred P. Sloan Prize, awarded to a film focusing on science or technology, will be determined by Alan Alda, Michael Polish, Evan I. Schwartz, Benedict Schwegler Jr. and John Underkoffler.

Fest runs Jan. 17-27.
